For Shits and Giggles

How I trolled myself-

24.12.12

I.. I just came out of the kitchen. I was ma... trying to make a ch.. cheesecake. It was my first time, guys. It was the first time I was making one. It turned out to be salty. Very salty.

*****

I'm a big foodie and  I love cooking so much that when I twirl, I become Nigella. *cue for ma'peeps to laugh*
To skip 2 hours of immense boredom (books) I decided to make a no bake cheesecake today. Since it was the first time I was making one, I was happy. I prepared a list of all the things I needed and scratched out those items that I already had.
Skipping and hopping like a rabbit, I went to the market to buy the remaining items. As I was coming back, I caught a curious dog gawking at the brown paper bag in my hand. I stared right back at him until he looked away. Smh.

*fast forward*

I put the crust in the freezer, whipped cheese to soften it a bit, added all purpose cream to it, whipped it again and added sugar to it. I then tasted it, it was salty. I kind of freaked out and added shitloads (3 big spoons) of sugar to it. I whipped it again and tasted it. Um.. let's just say, my taste buds died. I was in a fix. I didn't know what was happening until I tasted the white powder in the transparent box. It was salt. It.was.salt. IT WAS SALT. My tongue was numb and my eyes were wet. Wiping my tears, I ran to the fridge to check on the crust. I tasted it and yes, it was salty. Salty as hell.

I mistook salt for sugar. I freaked out. I didn't know what to do with the batter. I was more worried about my mother's reaction. Mothers become a nightmare if they come in contact with wasted food.

She scolded me. I cried and apologized. We tried to improvise on the batter but we couldn't save it.

25.12.12

Guys, mom gave me another chance to prove myself- too dramatic? Whatever. The batter was perfect and I deserve a pat on my back. Most importantly, I tasted the white content in the trans-p box before I added it to the crust and the batter. It is in the fridge now. YAY!

Anyway, check out what I wore-

Wearing: Animal print top, random black top, jeans, Clutch: Accessorize, Military boots, Golden Cuff: thrifted

A snake print top is all you need to fight the winters! I absolutely love the faux fur details on the side. Don't you? Gear up, guys. Keep yourself warm. :)

Merry Christmas! x

Feeling Festive

It's that time of the year when all of us eat our hearts out, make people laugh and just enjoy. We learn to love life as it is. We forget about our problems and live IN the moment. We forget about our past and we stop worrying about our future. We enjoy in the present. We smile. We should be like that everyday. Every single day. Smile and be thankful!

Wearing: Blazer- ZARA, Top: eci New York, Jeggings: thrifted, Jeweled flats, Clutch: Accessorize

Just a quick post a day before Diwali. This is what I wore today since festive season is the time you dress up and look pretty (Minus my attempt at applying a neat coat of nailpaint. Don't judge. I'm left handed. Everything I do with this hand comes out to be super untidy. My people have been cribbing for the past 11 years.) Anyway, I have a few surprises coming in for ya'll. Did you check out the latest mini blast? Check it out here.
Toodles.

Wishing you all a very happy and a prosperous Diwali!

Evolution

This blog has given me a chance to explore and evolve my sense of style. Thankfully, I have been able to experiment and my style continues to evolve.

Wearing: Razor cut black top, White boyfriend jeans, Sequinned blazer, Red peep toe heels.

I have made my obsession with this blazer quite obvious. Honestly, Delhi has been rewarded with a nip in the air and I can ACTUALLY wear this blazer without sweating one bit. Even though, I don't like winters so much (read: cold feet) I do like me some blazers. Blazers look classy. These jeans are a new find. I shall keep digging deep because, hey, who doesn't love surprises?!

I am not big on peep toe heels any more. I think they are a waste of funds because well, they don't really keep your toes from sticking out. Okay, now I'm stating the obvious. I guess I'l have to bid these pretties a good bye.

I have an economics test on monday. I shall bury myself in Indian Economics and Stats for the next 48 hours or so.

Birthday and Surprises

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."
- Jose.N.Harris

This is just a thought that was stuck on my fridge. Thought, I'd share it with you all. Hope ya'l like it. Do feel free to share your thoughts. :)

Here are some pictures from my birthday. I went out to grab a bite with my girls. Dimpy from Delhi Style Blog sent me a little surprise that made me so happy. Thank you so much Dimpy! :) x

Something Isn't Right.

Something isn't right. I can't describe it but something, I feel, isn't right at all.

Everything is fine, says my oh-so- calculative mind. It's almost emotionless, like a boulder, sitting on my head. The weight of this boulder is more than I can handle. I focus on my heart instead, that sits right here, in the centre of my chest. As light as a feather. I can't feel it. Something Isn't right, it says. It tells me- don't make me feel something that isn't genuine because I'm sick of that mask you put on. The mask of happiness and contentment. We both know it's the opposite. It asks me to deal with it with compassion

I did shoot (in a very very unprofessional manner) for an outfit but the pictures didn't turn out as I expected them to be so I just edited them a bit.

WEARING: Black top, White military silk jacket, black DIY Jeans, Black patent pumps.

I hope this edit didn't affect your vision. :P

I always come back to black. I bet black is a common favourite. (DUHH!)  Even though I kind of adore this top, I could never pair it with anything but my cool shorts until I came across these (DIY-d) jeans (and the jacket too). I am really bad at handling my things (read: closet). These faded black jeans popped up when I was rearranging my closet. Even though I was absolutely bored of wearing these, I wanted to keep them. I ripped them a bit and gave them a biker look. Ladies and gentlemen, NEVER did I wear them once, until yet again, I was brought back to square one- rearranging my closet (I really hate doing this shit) and I found them. Let's fast forward to the cool part- I wanted to do something even cooler to them so I pinned these extra large safety pins.
Yeah, this is where the story ends.
